Call me narcissist if you must but this blog is all about ME. I have another blog about my kids, whom I love and adore writing about. But I was Nicole a long time before I was mom and I don't intend to give up being Nicole overnight.

p.s.
You can read all about my kids at Naptime Optional.

Genius

No, not me. Well, maybe me. But that's not what this post is about.

I just downloaded the newest version of itunes and it has this new "Genius" feature. Has anybody seen this? It's supposed to create playlists from your music library of songs that it, the Genius, thinks "go great together." And then, as if that weren't enough, it also suggests new songs from the itunes store that would also go great with said playlist.

I haven't tried it yet because, well, I haven't purchased a song from itunes for awhile and, well, I can't really remember my login info. So I was wondering if anybody had tried it out yet and if it was worth tracking down my login info. Because I'm a really busy mommy/blogger and can't be bothered if it's not really REALLY worth my time.

Oh, and as long as I'm getting all geeky here....have you seen the new "I'm a PC" ads?

I'll admit, I'm typing this blog post right now on a Dell laptop....but I still think the Mac ads are WAY better. That's just my humble opinion.

Okay, enough geeky blogging for one day.

I haven't tried the Genius feature yet... But I have taken a look at the new ITUNES format. As like everything, it will take some getting used to.

Keep watching those Mac ads, one day you WILL leave the dark side!

I started Genius when I updated my iTunes, but hadn't played with it yet. I started playing with it this morning and its pretty fun! You pick a song and click on the Genius button and it goes through your library and creates a playlist of 25 songs based on that one. And then you can save the playlist for later. This'll be great for me, I have a hard time making playlists, but I want to. So far I think its fun.

And yes, I have seen the commercials, I love them! I keep pretty close tabs on them. :)

I don't know if it works great all the time for everyone, but I've had pretty good luck so far. I see it as an alternative to Shuffle, because instead of getting music, and then the random Alma chapter 31, you get music that's all sort of related, so you spend more time listening and less time skipping through a dozen songs looking for a good one, where a good one = one you're in the mood to listen to.

my super geeky husband said that itunes format is picky about being played various places. he said that amazon's version can be played on more than one computer because itunes has copyright protection stuff.
but i do like the complimentary playlist idea. i just made my own playlists (bedtime mix for the kids, sunday mix, sappy mix, radio mix) and have it play on shuffle. that makes me happy :)

The Mac ads are nothing short of brilliant.

Or should I say "GENIUS?"

Mac Ads are funny, yes.

But I'm still cracking up over the Jerry Seinfeld/Bill Gates Combinations in the New Microsoft Adds.
