Call me narcissist if you must but this blog is all about ME. I have another blog about my kids, whom I love and adore writing about. But I was Nicole a long time before I was mom and I don't intend to give up being Nicole overnight.

Dieting is not for the faint of heart

My baby is a year old now. So I finally decided it was time to get serious about losing the remaining baby weight.

So I've been on a diet for about 4 weeks now. There has been a slip up or two. But for the most part I've been trying really REALLY hard to eat better.

And I've been exercising. A lot. Everyday in fact. For close to 4 weeks now. Which doesn't sound like much but it's a HUGE accomplishment for me!

My husband just started dieting with me. On Monday to be exact. 4 days ago. Me, 4 weeks. Him, 4 days. And he's not been exercising.

So imagine my dismay when he stepped on the scale today and was already down 5 pounds. I've only lost 2. 4 weeks of dieting. 4 weeks of excercising. And I've lost a measly 2 pounds.

Believe me when I say the urge to single handedly eat an entire pint of Ben & Jerry's all by myself is quite strong right now. Especially since the England trip, which was my original motivation to start now, is more than likely off now.

But I will be strong. I will NOT drown my sorrows in food. I will not begrudge my husband for his instant success. I will persevere. I will be skinny, sleek, slender, strong, sexy, successful. I will!

Being thin is so over rated! Why should we care if we can wear cute clothes, be healthy and not be ashamed to have our picture taken? I'm so sorry, that was my evil twin. Go away, Tubby! Being healthy for yourself and kids, now that's a great goal.

Wii Fit.
Today was Day 111.
I'm Down 20 lbs.

I had a lot of steady decline for the first couple months, but the last month it's tapered off. I'm not going down, but I'm not going up. It's been a frustrating month.

I'm also reminded of when we went to 24 hour fitness for a mystery shop. The trainer said the hardest part for a husband/wife is that the metabolism of a man will kick into high gear faster.

I recommend Wii Fit.

Don't think in terms of pounds, think in terms of percentages. Calculate the % loss you and Mike have each achieved. That should make you feel better.

P.S. Check out my friend Mike's blog. He has lost over 100 pounds since the last New Years' Eve. And his strategy sounds great too!

P.P.S. Mike and I spent a MONTH travelling in Europe once. I highly recommend it.

Good luck! I've decided to start excersizing like Rich does everyday now that I'm not pregnant. Hopefully I can try and keep up with him!

You go girl! We all have our slip ups. Mine has been a really long slip up. But, you can always get back on the horse. And, oh ya, um, guys always lose it faster. That part pretty much sucks.

So, I'm totally on your side. I have been exercising and eating better for 6 weeks now, and I haven't lost a thing. So, CONGRATS on the 2 pounds. Let's keep going though.

You can do it!!
I'm trying to do the same thing! And while finding time to exercise with kids is hard... it makes you feel so good! Remember McKinsie? She tried everything, and had the hardest time sticking with things in the beginning. But now she's lost 33lbs in 24 weeks. It just takes time!
Try eating the ice cream for breakfast! My dad has this theory that you can eat anything you want for breakfast, because we work it of during the day... and then just eat salad for lunch and dinner!
