Call me narcissist if you must but this blog is all about ME. I have another blog about my kids, whom I love and adore writing about. But I was Nicole a long time before I was mom and I don't intend to give up being Nicole overnight.

p.s.

Sorry ya'll!

I detest that silly little word verification thingie that I'm forced to fill out each time I want to comment on somebody's blog. And so up until now I haven't had it on mine. I also wanted to allow comments from people who didn't have a blogger account. But the only way to turn on open ID comments is to ALSO allow anonymous comments. Which is LAME. I think I should be able to allow one type but not the other. But whatever.

So, up until this point I have had zero issues. No rude anonymous comments. No spamming. Life was great.

Tonight my brother called me and told me I had a problem. He had gotten 10 emails in the last minute or so of anonymous comments on my blog. And, unfortunately they were a bit crude. And so because there are people out there who think it's funny to set up some program to go out and spam other people's blog I have not been forced to turn off anonymous comments and to force you all to type in the fun letters to leave a comment on my blog. For that I truly apologize.

Please still leave comments though. They make my day.

OpenID is not the same as Anon. posting, and I'd be surprised if anybody on here is using OpenID to leave comments...so I'm pretty sure you could turn OpenID off and leave word verification also...off...up to you though.

I have had similar things happen in the past as well as people trying to get free advertising on my blog. (Yeah, like I have enough traffic to warrent that much effort.) Anyway, that's why I do the "comments moderation" thing. Sorry it happened to you.

That stinks that people use their intelligence for degrading purposes. Hope you are feeling better though.

I don't like the word verifier either but it's a neccesary evil.

no problem. I was just commenting on meg's blog that my word for the day was 'lickster' isn't that sweet! It doesn't bother me filling in the word verifier. I actually never even noticed you didn't have it on.

I used openID for awhile. I found it to bee way too cumbersome. So I just don't use it anymore. That which you talk of is called CAPTCHA. I found it in a technical reading several months back, and had to look it up. Wikipedia is the first link that google will pull up, at least lately. I know all too well, thea pain you feel. Both Annj and I have been blogger-spammed, and have had to turn on spam filtering. I've caught over 300 so far. Thank goodness it is automatic. But no problem. At least google uses some that are readable. Just today I was on a website, and made it around 10 times before I got one type in correctly. My captcha: chloger you know as in cool hip loger.

Sorry to hear about that. I don't mind the word verification, but it is nice to type my name & url since my main blog isn't on blogger. That's okay though - I still love ya!

That's too bad. I have anonymous comments and no word verification, and I get very few problems. I guess you're just more popular.
