Call me narcissist if you must but this blog is all about ME. I have another blog about my kids, whom I love and adore writing about. But I was Nicole a long time before I was mom and I don't intend to give up being Nicole overnight.

p.s.

My Souvenirs

My day at the hospital wasn't a total waste. I did get to bring home two nice (and very expensive) souvenirs.

First, this lovely xerox copy of my foot x-ray.

Now if it weren't for the fact that it was my foot and that I knew without a doubt that it was my baby toe that hurt like crazy I would never guess from looking at this picture that it was broken. Guess it's a good thing I'm not a radiologist. Since the doctor looked at it and said that it was a very definite break. Or maybe she couldn't actually see anything either but wanted to make me feel like it was worth my time (and money) to get my foot x-rayed so she just told me it was broken.

My second souvenir is this lovely new fashion footwear that I will be sporting for the next few weeks.

It's possibly the most expensive single shoe I will ever buy. But to be fair, despite it being less than beautiful, it actually really is quite functional. I have hobbled around with it on and with it off and my toe does hurt less when I walk with it on. Imagine that, something that does exactly what it is designed to do. So I've been trying to walk with it on anytime I get up from my perch on the couch.

Next time I'll just get the tee-shirt instead.

Ouch! I see the break. Looking at it makes me queezy. I hurt for ya! Glad you can look at the "good" side of the whole ordeal. ;)

only your kids are supposed to have these kinds of adventures! then again, it's a little less panic-inducing to have it be you, instead of them, especially long term (i still freak out about when jonah fell through the deck stairs).

Yes, I think the T-shirt might be a little less expensive and much more practical in the long run. I hope you are feeling better. I hate breaks!!!!!!!
